Velie made very nice cars in Moline, Illinois for 10 years. This one is all flat panels and angular lines. Even the headlights are not round. This was the only year Velie made a car in this style. It was the result of a renewed interest in ancient Egyptian architecture, which is all angular lines. It was a style statement. What makes this car unusual is that it has a longer wheelbase than the 1920 sales brochure claims. But it is the same wheelbase length as the 1919 model. Normally, the rear panel curves under the back seat. Velie did that too. But in this car the rear panel angles away from the back seat making the car longer. Obviously Velie made a few longer 1920 car bodies in order to use up left over 1919 chassis parts.
